Clothing Care
When it comes time to care for your jeans, how can you keep them looking good, fitting better, and lasting longer? If you’re not ready to stop washing them all together, you can try these tips that will keep your denim their best shade of blue for the long haul.
One: Spot Clean
Between washes, try removing small stains with a damp cloth or an old toothbrush and mild soap.
Two: How Many Wears?
Some people wash their jeans after one wear and others for up to 10. I recommend washing jeans after 2-3 wears. It saves you from early fading, but gets your jeans clean before they become misshapen or smelly (yikes!)it’s time for the laundry.
Three: The Secret Ingredient
Add 1 cup of distilled white vinegar to your detergent. This prevents the indigo in your jeans from bleeding, keeping them dark.
Four: Keep it Cool
Washing with cold water will also help your jeans retain their color.
Five: Line Dry
Hanging up your jeans instead of adding them to the dryer, will help them keep their shape.
